Mr. and Mrs. Edwin H. Corey
Park United Methodist Church, Coudersport, was the setting for the marriage of Miss Mary Anne Barr and Edwin H. Corey on Saturday (April 14, 1973).
The Rev. Donald H.G. Miller officiated at the 2:00 p.m. double-ring ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charley E. Barr, Austin, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin I. Corey, Coudersport.
Wedding music was provided by Randall Halter, organist, and David Hauber, soloist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of polyester sata peau fashioned with high neck of Cluny lace. The bodice was trimmed with tiny tucks and bands of lace with button trim extended from the neckline to the waist. Tiers of shirred lace enhanced the shoulders of the bishop sleeves which had an inset of lace to the cuffs. Matching lace encircled the waist and the skirt fell into soft gathers. Her chapel-length mantilla was also edged with Cluny lace. She carried a colonial bouquet of white daisies and blue mums with blue streamers.
Miss Debora Barr, Austin, was maid of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Miss Iinda White, Austin, cousin of the bride, Mrs. George Barr, Austin, the bride's sister-in-law, and Mrs. Frank Austin, Schaghticoke, N.Y. Jan Barr, the bride's niece, was flower girl.
The attendants were identically attired in chiffon gowns designed with white bodices accented with blue ruffled necklines. The bib effect was outlined with a blue ruffle trimmed with multi-colored Venise lace, and the long full sleeves were of white chiffon. The blue skirts fell into soft gathers. They wore blue picture hats trimmed with flowerettes, a satin ribbon and streamers. Each carried a colonial bouquet of white daisies and mums.
For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Barr chose a light blue dress with jacket and the groom's mother selected a pink dress and vest. Both mothers had corsages of white daisies.
Larry Chilson, uncle of the groom, Williamsport, was best man. Ushers were Tom Burdick, Frederick, Md., Robert Welsh and John Halloran, both of Coudersport. Chad Barr, nephew of the bride was ringbearer.
Approximately 175 guests attended the reception which was held at the Austin VFW Home.
The bride is a 1964 graduate of Austin Area High School and is employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation at Coudersport.
The bridegroom was graduated from Coudersport Area High School in 1964 and in 1968 from Tri-State College, Angola, tnd. He is employed by Emporium Specialties Co. Inc., Austin.
Following a wedding trip to Ocean City, Md., the couple is living at Goodyear Terrace, Austin.
