Fishing Creek, Nov. 5-- Once more this community was saddened by the death of one of its "old settlers." Moses Edward Baker passed away at his home on Fishing Creek, Saturday, October 27. He was born in Andover, NY, September 16, 1853. He was the last survivor of a family of seventeen and came to Fishing Creek when six years of age. Mr. Baker married Amanda Bessie in 1876. To this union were born - Clayton and - Fred Baker. Mrs. Baker passed away in 1884, and in 1886 Mr. Baker married her sister, Anna Bessie. To this union two girls, - Effie and - Bessie, were born. Mr and Mrs Baker were divorced, and on July 26, 1925, he married Mrs. Nettie Baker. Mr Baker was a charter member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge, No. 322, and a charter member of Winetha Lodge, No. 400. Mr. Baker is survived by - his wife, Nettke Baker, two sons, - Clayton and - Fred Baker of Card Creek; two daughters, - Mrs. Bessie Strait of Eldred and - Mrs Effie Allen of Roulette. Twenty-one grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Fishing Creek church, Rev. Sherger officiating.
