Made of logs about 1843, the church has been regularly serving the Baptists from the Mates Creek Association. Elder Jessie Ball was the church's first moderator, with Albert McCoy and John McCoy as deacons, and Adron Runyon was clerk. The church, though restructured by extensions and brick, is still standing today.
